Why Retire to the Philippines

Why, you say?

Because everything we need for our retirement is over there!

• the cost of living is amazingly affordable
• the climate is mild (not too hot/not too cold)
• living is “safe and secure” (like anywhere in the world)
• the people speak English, no need to learn a new language
• people are friendly, hospitable, warm and somewhat “Westernized”
• majority of the people are Christian, so there are no dietary laws to observe
• the country is lovely and the night life in the city is alive
• so many more other reasons!

This little country seems to be the best place for retirement!

 WESTERN VISAYAS

 https://corporate.mozcom.com

We will start checking the western part of Visayas.  Western Visayas consists of six provinces; Aklan, Antique, Negros Occidental, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo and 16 cities making it the region with the highest number of cities. Iloilo City is the regional center.

The highly urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo are in Western Visayas with Kalibo as the sole international gateway. The Kalibo International Airport boasts of the busiest international flights in Western Visayas compared to other airports in the region. Regular and chartered flights from Incheon in South Korea, Shanghai in China, Hongkong, Taipei in Taiwan accommodated thousands of travelers during the holidays from Asian routes to the capital town of Kalibo.

The province has no pronounced climate. It has a short dry season and is relatively wet the rest of the year.

The major economic activities of the region are farming, sugar, rice and corn milling, fishing, mining, and trading. Forward and backward integration in production, processing or marketing are good areas for investment. Other important industries include livestock and poultry raising and cottage industries such as rattan craft, food preservation, ceramics and confectionery manufacturing.

The region has a competitive advantage in the production of seaweeds, mangoes, pineapple, banana and cashew.

The region has several seaports and airports for both water and air travel. Telephone, postal and telegraphic services are available. Electricity and water supply are accessible to the population.
