A lot of people are ready to go into retirement and looking for a place to retire.  I belong to these people.  I believe that future retirees like us should be analytical; we shouldn’t just jump into anything without a lot of thinking and analysis and planning.

This research is aimed at finding out about all the aspects of retirement.  How to prepare for it, what to do and where to go.

To narrow down the topic and with the help of a friend, I will try to present the places in the Philippines where it’s good and possible for us Americans to stay. I am trying to meticulously evaluate the possibilities of each area in terms of cost of living, availability of medical and dental facilities, rental rates, shopping areas, recreation and entertainment, and everything else that we, as retirees would need when we retire in the Philippines.

I am not presenting any house purchases – yet – because my aim is to discover first if this is really the right place for us.  I do not want to jump into investing anything until I am fully convinced that I will have good and happy retirement years in that place.  I hope that is your goal too!

In creating this blog I am trying to make things easier for other American retirees as I am finding it out for myself.  I am presenting it in a more logical manner, place by place, checking each criteria, investigating this and that.  By the time we are ready to retire, I would have pretty much covered enough places that we can already make a very wise decision.

Remember – we should be analytical; we shouldn’t just jump into anything without a lot of thinking and analysis and planning.  After all, it’s our life we are talking about!
